Applications

It took me some time to decide that I wanted to to do an MBA. This meant that I had to take GAMT, arrange my transcripts from my native country and prepare applications in mere 3 months.
Gmat was the first step. I took the first GMAC test before preparing for GMAT. I got a 730. Sentence correction turned out to be the area I had to improve. I prepared for about a month, 2-3 hours daily. Since my commute takes about 35 minutes each way, that gave me about 1 bonus hour to prepare for GMAT. After preparing for one month I got a 760 in actual GMAT.

I continued researching the schools I wanted to apply to and zeroed in on following schools
1. Harvard Business School
2. Stanford GSB
3. Wharton Business School.
4. MIT Sloan
5. UChicago GSB.

Next step was writing the essays for business schools. I understimated the efforts required to write the essays and I paid the price. Whatever I wrote till Nov 27th seemed so crappy to me that I destroyed all of it. Now I had only one month and about 18 essays to write. I followed the advice of great hindu text Gita and concentrated on doing my work. I was able to apply to all the schools I intended to apply for.

Now I am just waiting for the interview calls to arrive. Each time I get an email from these schools, my heart skips a beat. When I completed my application, I told myself that I would not care if I dont get an interview call but when I read the blogs of other people who have applied and are going through same time, I couldnt help but being infected by their enthusiasm and passion.
